After 2 1/2 weeks on the Nafcilin, Grace had a bad allergic reaction to it. So, we ended up back at Primary Children's for another night. They decided to give her the Nafcilin again so that they could see what happens. It was BAD. So, they decided to put her on Clindamycin instead. Every 8 hours instead of 6. We actually got a little sleep. Now after 3 1/2 weeks of being on that, we think she may be having reaction to it. These red, itchy bumps showed up yesterday all over her stomach, back, arms, and legs. First, I called Juli because Tom wasn't home and made her come look. I thought it might be chicken pox but Juli thought it looked like an allergic reaction. The Dr. said he thought it was an allergic reaction too and to stop giving her the antibiotics, and give her Benedryl. We took her in today because they were getting worse and spreading. He still thinks its probably an allergic reaction but there is still a chance it could be chicken pox. The treatments are completely opposite so he said give it 24 hours to be sure. Tom saw the county health nurse today and told her that if she has chicken pox we want a refund on the vaccine we paid for! Poor Gracie!! It's Sunday now and she looks a little better today, so we're leaning toward allergic reaction. We kept her home from church just in case.
